A Lifelong Dedication to the Cello
Yaxin Sun's musical journey began at the Shandong University of Arts, where he graduated in 1998 with a deep foundation in cello performance, music theory, and history. His career has spanned orchestras, chamber ensembles, and private studios across two continents.
After years performing with the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra and various chamber groups, he continued his education at the Desautels Faculty of Music, University of Manitoba, graduating in 2016. He subsequently completed a fellowship with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in 2017.
Today, Yaxin teaches cello to students of all ages in Mississauga and Oakville, Ontario — from young children taking their first musical steps to adults rediscovering their passion. He offers lessons in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
